What is love?

What is love?

Do any of us really know what love is? Is love a certain thing or feeling to each person? Does everyone feel love in the same way? How do you know a person is worthy of your love? Can you love 2 people at the same time? Can you stop yourself from loving someone you know is all wrong for you? Where does love come from? Where does it live? Can you invite love into your life? Can you expel it from your life? How do you keep love alive? How do you express love? How can you tell that you really love someone or for that matter that they really love you? Is it in your kiss? Is it in your eyes? Is it in your hug? Is it that nauseating feeling you get when you see the object of your love? Is it that leap your heart makes everytime you talk to that person? Do you have a test which you administer to a person to confirm if they really love you? How do you know how much someone loves you? Love is a gamble isn't it? You lose everything or you win nothing!
I believe in love…but I want proof that love exists!! Please comment.

Famous quotes on love…..

11/20/07...I guess I am not the only one pondering love. Amherst Professor Ilan Stavans is doing it too....AND he wrote a book about it.

Love and Language by Ilan Stavans & Veronica Albin

“In this lively, erudite conversation Stavans ranges over literature, etymology, philosophy, mythology, and sexuality. The heart of his investigation is how language is used to convey emotion, and how literature is ''a form of empathy'' and ''inspired testimony'' that connects us with the human experience. Stavans generously shares not only his considerable learning, but his own experience, making this book a unique exploration of love and language.”—Fred R. Shapiro, Editor, Yale Book of Quotations
